The Short Version

Your data stays on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share it.

Data Storage

All data you enter in Stone & Basket is stored locally on your device. This includes:

  • Workout logs and exercise history
  • Food and nutrition logs
  • Body weight and daily metrics
  • Progress, momentum, and streak data
  • Workout templates, saved meals, and custom foods
  • App settings and preferences

There is no server. There are no accounts. There are no analytics.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal information. No registration or account is required to use the app, and we have no ability to access the data stored on your device.

No Selling or Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone. We have no advertising partners, no data brokers, and no third-party tracking. There is simply no data leaving your device for us to share.

Network Usage

Stone & Basket is designed to work fully offline. The app's core features — workout logging, nutrition tracking, analytics, and exports — never require a network connection.

The app includes one optional online feature: online barcode lookup. It is turned off by default. If you choose to enable it in Settings, scanning a barcode that is not in the app's offline database will send only the scanned barcode number to the Open Food Facts database to retrieve product nutrition information. No personal data, account information, or other app data is transmitted. You can disable this at any time.

Third-Party Services

Stone & Basket contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs — no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Facebook SDK, and no advertising framework. The only optional third-party service is the Open Food Facts barcode database described above, which you must explicitly enable.

Security

Your data is stored inside the app's private storage area on your device, isolated by Android's app sandboxing and protected by your device's own security (screen lock and on-device encryption). Because we operate no servers and hold no copy of your data, there is no central database that could be breached.

Backups and Exports

When you export or back up your data, it is saved to your device or shared using the Android share sheet at your direction. We never receive a copy of your exported data.

Google Play Data Safety

Consistent with our Google Play Data Safety declaration, Stone & Basket does not collect or share any user data.

Future Features

We may introduce the following optional features in the future:

  • AI-powered analysis — opt-in, with clear disclosure before any data leaves your device
  • Cloud sync — opt-in, with end-to-end encryption
  • Health Connect integration — opt-in, with explicit permission prompts

This policy will be updated before any of these features launch.

Children's Privacy

Stone & Basket is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, as we do not collect data from anyone.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's data in Android Settings.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and your use of Stone & Basket are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.

Changes to This Policy

Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.
